You crave what you eat
Feb 14, 2020I'm keeping this one short but to the point.
If you eat domino's pizza every Friday night, what do you think you're going to crave around 5 pm on Friday? Pizzaaaaaaa
If you eat donuts every morning on your way to work, what do you think sipping coffee is going to trigger a craving for? I'll give you a hint, it's not a spinach scramble.
The more you eat something, the more your body is going to expect it. We are creatures of habit and while we may get sick of something after awhile, we tend to have subconscious expectations in our head and our bodies prepare for those meals and we get pretty excited about eating them.
If you want to start craving healthier food, you literally just have to start eating healthier food. You're not going to crave a cinnamon sweet potato with almond butter, asparagus, and chicken if you're eating KFC & mac n cheese. I'm telling you, the first one is my JAM! I don't crave KFC because I don't eat it, I crave air fried asparagus because it's a part of my daily diet! My body prepares to use those nutrients and tells my brain "YO! We looooove asparagus, send some more pls!" I also crave ribeyes, and it would be filet mignon if I wasn't so frugal lol.
Over the holidays, I started to crave junk because I was eating junk. The HARDEST part is consciously getting out of that momentum because those cravings are pretty powerful once you get in the habit of eating sugar. Choose to start, choose to gain momentum, and it gets easier & easier as time goes on. The more momentum you have in the other direction, the harder it is to get going to the other way, but you TOTALLY can do it!
So...what kind of cravings do you want? I promise you have a choice!
